Green Infrastructure Goes Business Award 2024
Der Green Infrastructure Goes Business Award ist ein Wettbewerb zur Förderung der grünen, naturbasierten Wirtschaft. Er findet bereits zum dritten Mal statt. Die Initiative ist in die EU-Strategie für den Alpenraum (EUSALP) eingebettet und wird vom Slowenischen Ministerium für natürliche Ressourcen und Raumplanung, dem Soča Valley Development Centre, der Autonomen Provinz Bozen - Südtirol und dem Bayerischen Staatsministerium für Umwelt und Verbraucherschutz finanziert. Wie in den Jahren 2022 und 2023 setzt planval den Wettbewerb um.
Forum für nachhaltiges Wassermanagement in der Landwirtschaft lanciert
Das neue «Forum nachhaltiges Wassermanagement in der Landwirtschaft» will Lösungen erarbeiten und Wissen vermitteln, wie man angesichts des Klimawandels die Ressource Wasser in der Landwirtschaft noch umsichtiger nutzt. Entwickelt wurde das Forum von der landwirtschaftlichen Beratungszentrale AGRIDEA und der Hochschule für Agrar-, Forst- und Lebensmittelwissenschaften BFH-HAFL.

Call for Abstract: International pond conference 2024
PONDERFUL and the European Pond Conservation Network invite to submit a proposal to give a presentation or share a poster at their free international online conference from the 12 to 13 November 2024. This two-day online event will bring together freshwater scientists, practitioners and policymakers from around the world. Their aim is to share the latest research, practical and political knowledge on the importance of ponds as nature-based solutions for climate change adaptation. Deadline: 19th July 2024.

Calls for Proposals: Adaptation to Climate Change and Restore our oceans and water calls (Horizon Europe Missions)
In line with the Horizon Europe 2023-2025 work programme, the European Commission has launched three new calls for proposals under the Adaptation to Climate Change and Restore our oceans and water by 20230 Horizon Europe Missions. A total of EUR 233.7 million in EU funding is available under these calls with deadlines on the 18 September 2024.

In a recently launched project, the aquatic research institute Eawag is investigating how the use of borehole thermal energy storage (BTES) affects the surrounding soil, the groundwater and the microorganisms living in it. In collaboration with Empa and its Demonstrator Energy Hub (ehub), a project is being developed in a unique setting on the campus in Dübendorf.

European Partnership Water4All: Call to set out water topics for which research and innovation activities are recommended
The European Partnership Water4All just launched a public consultation to set out water topics for which research and innovation activities are recommended. Topics are grouped into different key themes related to the value of water and circular economy, ecosystems and biodiversity, sustainable water management, etc.. The results of the survey will influence the selection of the next call topics. The deadline is 11 August 2024.
